Hidden Within the Flames

Fire, on a Team Liquid piece, had to be blue. I took the flow of the flame as the real subject and drew it as fluid, handcrafted strokes running across the entire chair, backrest, seat, sides, in a palette of deep and royal navies, two teals, and salmon and blush pinks that keep the whole thing from reading as cold. Silver on the armrests and side lines gives the artwork something quiet to sit against, and blue accents on the wheels close the piece off.Fogo, numa peça da Team Liquid, tinha que ser azul. Peguei o fluxo da chama como assunto de verdade e desenhei em traços fluidos, feitos à mão, correndo pela cadeira inteira, encosto, assento e laterais, numa paleta de azuis profundos e royal, dois tons de verde-água, e rosas salmão e blush que impedem o conjunto de ficar frio. A prata nos apoios de braço e nas linhas laterais dá à arte um contraponto silencioso, e detalhes azuis nas rodas fecham a peça.

Every stroke is meant for thread, not print: the artwork was drawn to be fully embroidered, which is what turns the pattern from an image on fabric into something with grain and relief. Even the Team Liquid logo is embroidered. Responsible for the concept and the illustration of the chair, I carried it through to the artwork and the product renders, working with the Blacklyte and Team Liquid teams on what the piece needed to be, unique, premium, and worth collecting even by someone who has never watched a match.Cada traço foi pensado para linha, não para impressão: a arte foi desenhada para ser inteiramente bordada, e é isso que transforma o padrão de uma imagem sobre tecido em algo com textura e relevo.
