This is 没入 (Botsunyū/Immersion), a 60x80 canvas painted with acrylic paint, where we see the cat focused on the koi swimming inside the aquarium, wanting to capture it, immersed in its goal. Thus, it doesn't realize that it is itself submerged in a large aquarium, surrounded and observed by other koi.
It's about sinking into thoughts, isolating oneself from all reality. It's also about ADHD.
This artwork was commissioned by Neko Fest for the Sampa Cat Festival exhibition, which is taking place at Ziv Gallery, in São Paulo.
